Tefsen (“Tefsen,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the Tefsen Android application, Tefsen Web, tefsen.com, and related educational community services.
Tefsen is a social education network where students can create profiles, ask academic questions, upload images, provide answers, follow other students, receive notifications, request student verification, and purchase optional subscription features.
This Privacy Policy explains what information Tefsen collects, how it is used, when it may be shared, how long it is retained, and how users can request deletion.
By using Tefsen, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

3. Information we collect
The information collected depends on the Tefsen features you choose to use.
3.1 Account and authentication information
When you create or use an account, Tefsen collects or processes:
- Full name or display name
- Username
- Email address
- Firebase account identifier
- Authentication provider information
- Google account information provided through Google Sign-In
- Account creation and update timestamps
- Sign-in and account-security information
Tefsen does not collect or store your Google password. Authentication credentials are handled by Firebase Authentication and the selected authentication provider.
3.2 Profile and educational information
You may provide:
- Profile photograph
- Biography
- School or university
- Student category
- Academic interests and preferred subjects
- Verification status
- Reputation, badges and achievements
- Public profile details
3.3 Student-verification information
If you request a verified-student badge, Tefsen may collect:
- School or university name
- Institutional email address
- Student identification or index number
- Student identification document information
- Requested student role
- Verification-review status
Verification information is used only to review eligibility, prevent fraud, maintain community trust and administer verified badges. Verification material is restricted to authorized administrative review processes and is not intended to appear on public profiles.
Do not submit government identification unless Tefsen specifically requests it and it is necessary for verification.
3.4 User-generated content and community activity
When you participate in Tefsen, we collect and process:
- Academic questions
- Answers and explanations
- Titles and descriptions
- Uploaded question and answer images
- Subjects and categories
- Likes and helpful votes
- Saved posts
- Accepted answers
- Follows and follower relationships
- Reports and moderation reasons

3.5 Photographs, images and camera access
Tefsen allows users to select or capture images for:
- Academic questions
- Answers
- Profile photographs
- Student-verification requests
Camera access occurs only after you choose a feature that needs the camera. Tefsen does not continuously access the camera.
Uploaded images are stored using Firebase Storage. Images added to public questions, answers or profiles may be visible to other community members.
3.6 Subscription and purchase information
Tefsen offers optional subscription features through Google Play.
Tefsen may process:
- Subscription product
- Purchase token
- Subscription status
- Trial status
- Renewal and expiration status
- Purchase verification results
Payments are processed by Google Play. Tefsen does not receive or store your complete payment-card number or banking credentials.

If notifications are enabled, Tefsen processes:

- Related post or activity identifier
Notification tokens are used only to deliver Tefsen notifications to the appropriate device. You can disable notifications through Tefsen settings or Android system settings.

- Internet Protocol address in service logs
- App-instance identifier

This information is used for analytics, security, fraud prevention, troubleshooting and service improvement. Tefsen does not use this information to provide third-party targeted advertising.

4. Android permissions
Tefsen may request the following Android permissions:
Camera
Used only when you choose to capture a question, answer, profile or verification image.
Notifications
Used to alert you about answers, likes, accepted explanations, followers, verification decisions and other relevant account activity.
Internet access
Used to sign in, synchronize profiles and content, upload media, verify subscriptions and deliver notifications.
Tefsen does not request access to your precise location, contacts, SMS messages, call history or microphone as part of its current core functionality.

Tefsen uses collected information to:
- Create and operate user accounts
- Authenticate users
- Maintain profiles and usernames
- Display academic questions and answers
- Upload and display user-selected images
- Personalize academic feeds
- Search for posts, subjects and users
- Process likes, follows and accepted answers

6. Public and community-visible information
Tefsen is a community service. The following information may be visible to other users:

- School or university when added to a profile

- Images attached to published content
- Likes and accepted-answer information
- Follower and following relationships
Do not publish private contact details, passwords, identification documents, financial information or other sensitive information in public questions, answers, profiles or images.
Email addresses and student-verification documents are not intended to be displayed as part of the standard public profile.
8. Legal grounds for processing
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, Tefsen processes information based on:
- Performance of the service requested by the user
- User consent
- Legitimate interests in operating, improving and securing Tefsen
- Protection of users and prevention of abuse
- Compliance with legal obligations
You may withdraw consent where processing depends on consent. Withdrawal does not affect processing that occurred before consent was withdrawn.
9. Data security
Tefsen uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect information, including:
- Firebase Authentication

- Encrypted network connections

- Private notification-token storage

No internet or storage system can guarantee absolute security. Users should protect their sign-in credentials and report suspected unauthorized access to support@tefsen.com.
10. Data retention
Tefsen retains information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy.
In general:
- Account and profile information is retained while the account remains active.
- Published content is retained until it is deleted, hidden or removed through account deletion or moderation.
- Uploaded media is retained while associated content or an account remains active.
- Notification tokens are retained while notifications are enabled and the account or device remains active.
- Subscription records are retained while needed to provide subscription access, resolve payment issues and meet legal obligations.
- Support, moderation, fraud-prevention and security records may be retained longer when reasonably necessary to protect users, investigate abuse, resolve disputes or comply with law.
- Anonymous or aggregated information that can no longer identify a user may be retained for analytics and service improvement.
11. Account and data deletion
Users can request permanent deletion in either of these ways:

When an account-deletion request is completed, Tefsen deletes or removes the associated account, authentication record, profile, username mapping, authored posts, authored answers, uploaded media, likes, follows, notification tokens, verification requests and associated personal information from active systems.
Information may be retained only when reasonably necessary for:
- Security investigations
- Fraud or abuse prevention
- Legal obligations
- Payment or transaction records
- Dispute resolution
- Moderation safety
- Enforcing the rights of other users
Where possible, retained records will be minimized or anonymized. Information already shared publicly by another user, independently copied by another person or required for an unresolved safety case may not be immediately removable.
12. User choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to:
- Access personal information
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your account and associated information
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Withdraw consent
- Request a portable copy of eligible information

Tefsen may need to verify your identity before processing certain privacy requests.
13. Children’s privacy
Tefsen is intended for users aged 13 and older. Tefsen is not directed to children under 13.
If we learn that personal information was collected from a child under 13 without appropriate authorization, we will take reasonable steps to delete the information. A parent or guardian can contact support@tefsen.com.
14. International processing
Firebase, Google and other service infrastructure may process information in countries other than the user’s country. Privacy and data-protection laws may differ between countries.
Where required, Tefsen relies on appropriate safeguards provided by its service providers and applicable law.
15. Third-party links
Tefsen may contain links to external websites or services. Tefsen is not responsible for the privacy practices of services it does not control. Review the privacy policy of each external service before providing information.
16. Changes to this policy
Tefsen may update this Privacy Policy when the service, legal requirements or data practices change.
The updated policy will be posted at this URL with a revised “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be communicated through the app or website where appropriate.
